André Van Torre is a man who could talk ages about what he has been through in his life. He boarded the Mercator in 1939, joined a minesweeper of the British navy as a Belgian during World War II, and was a pilot in the North Sea for about 30 years afterwards. He could most certainly fill an entire book with his stories without boring anyone. Juliana Vandegrift interviewed him on a windy and rainy day in fall 2010. |
